This week's project was to evaluate a webquest according to the rubric given. I chose my webquest from Zunal WebQuest Maker. This project was very tiring exactly because i couldn't get what i must do. But i have seen that it is a very profitable project about learning how to make an evaluation on a webquest. I will use this project in my future career because it gives us important clues, indeed it shows us how to make qualified projects.
I've chosen a webquest by Natalee Mcdonald about Computer.
Overall Aesthetics
Overall Visual Appeal: Graphic elements sometimes, but not always, contribute to the understanding of computer. 2/4
Navigation & Flow: It is easy to follow the instructions for the users. 4/4
Mechanical Aspects: There are some problems with the pictures. And there are almost no links. 0/4
Introduction
Motivational Effectiveness of Introduction: The introduction is not attractive for the users. There is enough information but there is not enough motivational effect. 0/2
Cognitive Effectiveness of Introduction: The introduction doesn't prepare the reader for what is to come, or build on what the learner already knows. 0/2
Task
Connection of Task to Standards: The task is referenced to standards but is not clearly connected to what students must know and be able to do to achieve proficiency of those standards. There are some steps but it is not clear for students how to start with that step. 2/4
Cognitive Level of The Task: Task is doable but is limited in its significance to students' lives. It doesn't require any research on any page but tries to teach some basic procedures that can be done on computer. 3/6
Resources
There is not a "Resources" section on the WebQuest page that i chose.
Process
Clarity of Process: Every step is clearly stated. Most students would know exactly where they are at each step of the process and know what to do next. The teacher will tell and show everything to them. 4/4
Scaffolding of Process: Strategies and organizational tools embedded in the process are insufficient to ensure that all students will gain the knowledge needed to complete the task. 3/6
Richness of Process: Some separate tasks assigned. Everything is clear but more complex activities required. 1/2
Evaluation
Clarity of Evaluation Criteria: Criteria for success are clearly stated in the form of a rubric. Criteria include qualitative as well as quantitative descriptors.
The evaluation instrument clearly measures what students must know and be able to do to accomplish the task. 6/6
Total Score: 22/ 42 ( I've evaluated the Webquest out of 42 points because there is not "Resources" section on it.)
